Women’s Diversity and Training Program - Sandvik

Improving gender diversity and inclusion within companies is now an integral part of every HR department’s goals, since global studies have proved that this gives companies a strong competitive advantage. The Women's Diversity and Training Program was implemented by Sandvik in Telangana for specific trades such as Electricians, Fitter Operations & Tunneling. The tenure for the project was 3 years (in 3 phases) with a budget of almost Rs 60 lakhs. The program was based on the model implemented within the existing framework of the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), without disrupting the ITI training process. The target group was young women who were either in their final year of ITI training or those who had just graduated from an ITI.
